Gain essential quantity surveying skills while working in the construction industry - this stimulating and challenging apprenticeship will leave you in a great position to undertake a number of construction cost management roles. This degree apprenticeship leads to chartered membership of the Chartered Institute Of Building - MCIOB - without the need to undertake any further assessment.
Aimed at those who have already successfully completed the Construction Quantity Surveyor Technician apprenticeship or who hold an HNC in a relevant subject, this apprenticeship will enable you to build a sound knowledge and understanding of the role of cost management professionals in construction, as defined by the professional bodies, and its application in different contexts within the built environment.
As well as the fundamentals of cost management, additional digital skills are fully embedded throughout the course, using industry standard software, to encourage you to develop your confidence in producing cost estimates and bills of quantities.
You'll also develop your problem-solving skills - the course will allow you to build your knowledge to enable you to provide sound and justified cost management advice and guidance in a variety of different formats. To aid this, you'll be encouraged to develop your technical writing and presentation skills throughout the course.
To encourage inter-disciplinary working, you'll frequently work alongside students studying on our other construction-related programmes, including those on our construction project management and quantity surveying courses. This will help enhance your understanding of industry and offers excellent peer-to-peer learning opportunities to broaden your knowledge.
Throughout your apprenticeship you'll have the opportunity to apply what you have learned during your studies to the workplace and vice-versa. You'll also be invited to attend regular progress reviews with one of our apprenticeship coaches, and you'll be required to complete an end-point assessment to ensure you are able to fulfil the role of a construction quantity surveyor.
